Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The role of Warehouse Assistant is a full-time entry-level position suitable for an individual looking to enter the workforce. This role will work under the Logistics Manager as well as being mentored by the Facility Manager as part of their personal development in warehouse and facility operations of the Auburn office.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop skills over time in both office duties such as computer operations as well as physical warehouse skills such as forklift operations, stock selection and packing, working Monday to Friday in the Auburn facility. While not required for role commencement, it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to obtain and maintain a NSW driver’s license as well as a forklift license.

As warehouse duties will require access to restricted/controlled products the candidate will be required to hold Australian citizenship and to participate in government security screening should a security clearance be required for this role in the future.

The role will require the individual to manually handle crates, boxes, and equipment cases weighing up to 32 kg as part of day-to-day operations, so the successful candidate will need to be physically able to undertake such activities given appropriate manual handling training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attendance at the Auburn facility each working day;
  • Careful and accurate completion of warehouse and site operations tasks as assigned and under the supervision of the Logistics Manager;
  • Completion of training activities assigned by the Logistics Manager, or other appointed supervisor, to the agreed schedule;
  • Compliance with business policies, procedures, and all Work, Health, and Safety directives.

Dimensions

  • Receipt of deliveries to the Auburn facility, inspection and unpacking of received goods;
  • Recording received material into appropriate computer stock control and ticketing applications;
  • Movement of goods and materials within the warehouse using pallet jack or forklift;
  • Manual handling of goods and equipment weighing up to 32Kg;
  • Picking and packing of goods and materials for shipment either locally or internationally based on instructions provided;
  • Preparation of consignment documentation for outgoing shipments;
  • Facilitating collection of outgoing shipments by couriers or staff;
  • Responding to inquiries as to the status of shipments;
  • Participation in business programs and internal initiatives.
  • Contribution to continuous improvement and efficiency in the workplace
  • Follow and apply to Health, Safety, and Environment policies of G2 applicable to the role, including being responsible for reporting any issues encountered in the workplace.
  • Must comply with Health and safety regulations as outlined in the Health & Safety at Work Employee Handbook and as dictated by local legislation.
  • Training will be appropriate to the tasks you carry out but will include: warehouse operations, facility operations, working at heights, electromagnetic radiation safety, electrical safety awareness, and manual handling.

Qualifications Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Have completed their HSC, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience;
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence and comprehension of the English language
  • Demonstrate competence in the operation of a computer running Windows 10
  • Be competent with the use of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Hold, or commit to obtaining and maintaining a NSW Drivers License
  • Hold, or commit to obtaining and maintaining a Forklift Operator License
  • Commit to attending all mandatory Health and safety training and ensure you are clear on Health and safety standards at all times.
  • Be aware environmental impact of the role and corporate social responsibility (CSR)

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working in a team environment
